Do you crave food all the time? If not, then this one's not for you!
Being skinny for 241567 years to becoming a foodie (a journey I shared in my blog "For The Love of Food"), I have always loved food since then. There's no specific food that I love, but I mostly have midnight cravings for ice creams, chocolates, shakes, and all things sweet.
And when I don't find them in my room, I don't even bother to go to the kitchen and munch stuff because I am too lazy to go downstairs.
So, I do these 3 things and curb my food cravings. They might help you as well, so check it out!
#1 Drink Water:
Water has been my saviour all the time. When there's no food around, or it's too late to eat anything, then water relieves my cravings. I sip half of the water from my bottle and sleep. You can also take 2-3 sips every 10 minutes; it depends. It works wonders coz it has worked for me.
#2 Distract yourself:
Boredom makes us hungry. If you’re not tired, but it’s too late to snack, simply distract yourself! For me, distraction is scrolling my Instagram feed or sometimes overthinking a situation but not food, obviously :p. This has helped me in many ways. To be honest, my mobile is a major distraction for me at midnight.
Coming to the last one...
#3 Keep some healthy snacks to munch on:
Makhanas (fox nuts), Nuts (Almonds, Cashews, Pistachios, etc.), diet namkeens, if you like, etc. can be really helpful when you are craving something yummy and delicious. These are high in fiber, and proteins that will help you feel a lot better.
So, in the end, I would just say:
Dear Food, you are BORED, not HUNGRY. So, please stop reacting at midnight, and let me sleep coz it's damn cold in here for me to move.
