A Slice of Italy in Bangkok – My Prego Experience

During my stay at Amari Bangkok Hotel, I stumbled upon Prego, an Italian restaurant conveniently located right at the entrance. For the first few days, my meals revolved around Indian cuisine, but by the second-last day, some of us were craving something different. And what better way to switch things up than indulging in authentic Italian flavors?
It was mid-December, so the holiday spirit was in full swing. The restaurant was beautifully decked out in Christmas décor, complete with a huge Christmas tree and festive lights. The warm ambiance, soft holiday music, and cozy setting made it the perfect spot for a relaxed dinner.
We quickly found ourselves a table for four, grabbed the menu, and got ready to feast.
What We Ordered at Prego Bangkok:
🍝 White Sauce Pasta – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A safe and satisfying choice, especially for the two kids at our table. Of course, we had to sneak a bite, and it did not disappoint! The sauce was perfectly creamy, and the pasta quality was top-notch—a simple yet delicious dish.
🍕 Half Margherita & Half Vegetariana Pizza – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Since we were dining with kids, we went for the best of both worlds—a half-and-half pizza. And honestly? After days of Indian food, this was a much-needed change!
Margherita – Classic and comforting with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and fresh basil.
Vegetariana – A medley of fresh veggies, mozzarella, and tomato sauce.
Both halves were delicious, the crust was just right, and it truly hit the spot!
🧀 Ravioli Ricotta e Spinaci – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Ravioli stuffed with ricotta cheese & spinach, drizzled in a butter sage sauce. This was my first-ever ravioli experience (because of the egg factor), and OMG, what a revelation! The moment I took a bite, I was hooked. It was light, flavorful, and just melted in the mouth. Hands down, it was the highlight of our meal! We got the 4-piece portion, which was just perfect.
What We Sipped On:
🍹 Sangria Con Frutta Fresca – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A refreshing blend of fresh fruit pieces, orange & mango juice, topped with Sprite. This drink was an absolute delight—fruity, fizzy, and so refreshing!
🧊 Iced Tea – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A classic for the kids—cool and refreshing.
After such a delicious meal, I couldn’t resist capturing some ambience shots while we waited for the bill. Since it was the last night of our trip, I wanted to soak in every bit of the cozy, festive vibe that Prego had to offer.
I don’t know if you’ll ever stay at Amari Bangkok, but if you’re anywhere near this area, Prego should be on your Italian restaurant must-try list! Plus, it’s right across from Platinum Mall—one of Bangkok’s busiest shopping spots. (If you’re not familiar with it, click here to know more—I guarantee you won’t miss visiting this mall once you’re in Bangkok!)
