This blog covers the second half of my Thailand trip—Bangkok! The moment we landed in Bangkok from Phuket (which I’ll cover in the first half of my Thailand blog), it felt like Christmas everywhere. From the airport’s festive decor to the city streets, the holiday spirit was truly in the air. Even Bangkok’s airport, though small yet charming, was beautifully decked out for the season.
After reaching our hotel—Amari Bangkok—we checked in and were assigned rooms on the 33rd floor (out of 34 floors in total). What caught my attention was the high-tech lift system. Instead of traditional buttons inside the elevator, there were touchscreen panels in the lift lobby. You simply tap your key card, select your floor, and the system directs you to a specific elevator that will take you there—no need to press buttons inside! Isn’t that amazing? No touch, no sanitisation hassle—just pure hygiene. This is exactly what a 5-star experience should feel like!
It was already afternoon by the time we checked in, and hunger kicked in. We decided to meet in 30 minutes at the reception to grab a bite. Just then, I was informed that my lunch was booked at LV Le Café, Bangkok—which honestly, I had no clue about. With just 45 minutes to get ready, leave, and reach the place for our 5 PM reservation, I went into full panic mode.
I rushed to my room, only to realize my keys were with my mom, and she had already left for lunch with the others. Panic level: 100. I frantically Googled ways to unlock a suitcase, and after 20 minutes of stress, frustration, and an almost tear-filled breakdown, I somehow managed to open it using a hairpin and a pen (yes, skills unlocked!). I threw on an outfit, got ready with my travel buddy (who I call Di), and we checked the maps—thankfully, LV Le Café was just 10 minutes away.
The moment we stepped out of the hotel, we were hit by chaos—insane traffic, endless honking, and a rush that felt straight out of India. The tuk-tuks zipping around made it clear that getting a cab was impossible, so we decided to hop on one instead. And wow, what a ride!
When we finally reached LV Le Café, it was a whole different world—pure luxury, elegance, and everything mind-blowing. And let me tell you, this place is something else! 👉 Click here to read more about my LV Le Café experience and find out if it’s truly worth the visit.
After a delicious meal at LV Le Café, we made our way to the LV Museum—and guess what? We got a FREE LV gift inside! 🎁 But here’s the catch—instant booking saved us. Want to know how? Read my LV The Place Bangkok: Louis Vuitton Visionary Journeys experience.
With our surprise gifts in hand, we headed to the LV Store, took the elevator up, and browsed through the collection (of course, just window shopping, no way I was buying anything!). We spent some time just soaking in the whole LV experience—and after 2.5 hours of luxury overload, we stepped out into Gaysorn Amarin (Gaysorn Village).
And then—a giant carousel stood right in the centre, sparkling under the lights. The best part? It was FREE! And unlike most places, adults were allowed on it too. Of course, I had to take a ride—how could I miss that? Haha!
After that little unexpected joyride, we hopped onto a Tuk Tuk and headed back to the hotel. We quickly changed into comfy clothes and decided to visit Platinum Mall, which was right across from our hotel—literally a 2-minute walk. But surprise, surprise—it was closed! It turns out that the mall shuts at 8 p.m. (definitely not what we expected).
No worries though—we had a backup plan! We walked less than a kilometre to Central World, one of Bangkok’s biggest shopping malls, and let me tell you—it was HUGE. Too many lights, too much Christmas vibe, a food festival, and a crazy crowd—just WOW. 🎄
We split up to explore different floors and check out some new brands, agreeing to meet at a designated point when the mall started winding down for the night. After wandering, shopping (or mostly window shopping again), clicking tons of pictures, and recording videos for you all, it was time to wrap up the night.
We finally settled outside, just soaking in Bangkok’s nightlife, as the food festival buzzed around us. Since everyone was craving Indian food, we walked over to Copper Chimney for dinner. The food? Nice and satisfying.
And that’s a wrap on our first day in Bangkok—jam-packed with food, fun, and unexpected adventures! With our bellies full and feet tired, it was finally time to call it a night.
Stay tuned—there’s so much more from my Bangkok trip coming up in the next blog! 🇹🇭
