Expectations

"I'm not in this world to live up to your expectations and you're not in this world to live up to mine." ~ Bruce Lee

This quote says it all.

We all have expectations; many are good, and some are bad. Unfortunately, I have met so many people who cannot live up to their expectations, and let's face it; we can't all be perfect. If you're expecting something from someone and they can't give it to you in the end, then that one person was probably not worth holding on to.

Right? We tend to feel this way, and what does it do in the end? It ruins our relationship. So, why do we even feel the need to expect? Why??????

Can't we live without expecting anything from anyone and stay together always? Don't do what others want; do what you want and what makes you "YOU."

So, here's me giving an ode to expectations, I've written a few lines for you.

Expectations indeed hurt

But let your mind divert

At times brain is fucked up

So always have a backup

People will disappoint

But that is a sort of turning point

Learn from the past

To help you decide fast

No one’s gonna make you smile

Even if you go a mile

It’s you, only you, who stays

Just like air in the packet of lays

So it’s time to stop expecting

Coz they are bad memories, you will be collecting

Finally, it’s time to move on

Before it’s time for dawn

... ... ...
