LV The Place Bangkok - Le Café Louis Vuitton
This experience came out of nowhere for me. While planning our family trip to Thailand, I had no idea it would lead to an adventure at LV The Place Bangkok - Le Café Louis Vuitton. My parents never excluded me from family trips, so I was all set to join in. You know how it goes—mention a place or event in passing, and suddenly your Instagram feed is full of ads and posts about it. That’s exactly how I discovered this café. One of my favorite bloggers, @zingyzest, posted about her visit there, and the pictures instantly drew me in.
Curious, I checked out the café’s Instagram page and learned that getting a reservation here was anything but easy. The place seemed perpetually booked until February 2025—and my flight was in December 2024. Still, I saved it on my "must-visit" list, hoping for a miracle.
Fast forward to our trip: We were a group of 13, including elders, two kids, and a young couple close to my age. The couple casually asked me to try booking a table for a specific day and time, a week before the trip. Despite refreshing the page daily like a maniac, I couldn’t snag a single spot. Eventually, I gave up, packed my bags, and focused on the trip.
Our first stop was Phuket (more on that in my Thailand blog soon), followed by Bangkok. After landing in the city, checking into our hotel, and settling in, the unexpected happened. The younger couple in our group casually dropped a bombshell—they had managed to book a table for two! But instead of going themselves, they decided I should go with the girl, leaving the kids behind.
I was in shock. “Wait, what? It’s booked?!” My first thought wasn’t even excitement but panic—I didn’t have anything “Louis Vuitton café appropriate” to wear! Still, I scrambled to put together a decent outfit and headed out.
Due to traffic, we opted for a tuk-tuk ride to the café, which was conveniently just 10 minutes away from our hotel. The café was a sight to behold. With just six tables and seating for five at each, it felt exclusive. However, to maintain the luxury vibe, they only allowed two people per table. We asked if we could bring the kids in, and to our relief, they agreed. A quick call later, the three of them rushed to join us.
The place was everything I imagined and more—picture-perfect and dripping with opulence. Naturally, we couldn’t resist clicking photos to capture the moment (and, let’s be honest, to flaunt a little on Instagram). At the centre of the café, there was a long oval table showcasing a variety of desserts, allowing us to choose what we liked before placing our orders. This setup was incredibly convenient, making it easy for us to decide.
Once we were all seated, the staff politely informed us that we had 1.5 hours to make the most of our experience. This included placing our orders, savouring our meals, and, of course, capturing as many Instagram-worthy pictures as we wanted.
Once seated, we began exploring the menu with excitement. To our surprise, it was a relatively small menu focused primarily on desserts, featuring cakes, pastries, ice creams, shakes, juices, and mocktails. That’s it! With limited options, we decided to make the most of what was available. While some items we wanted to try were unavailable, the staff kindly guided us toward their bestsellers. We opted to sample at least one item from each category, and here’s what we ordered:
Handcrafted Pastries:
Monogram Tiramisu Cake – This stunning pastry was adorned with LV monograms, making it feel like a luxury item on a plate. It was perfectly portioned for two people, though its taste was so indulgent that it could easily satisfy four! The creamy layers melted in the mouth, leaving us in awe. Rating: 4.5/5 for its exquisite presentation and flavor.
Ice Cream Parfait:
Mango Sorbet Parfait – This was a showstopper! Refreshing, tangy, and the perfect antidote to Thailand’s scorching heat, this dessert was a unanimous favorite. Every spoonful was a burst of tropical delight. Rating: 4.9/5 for its uniqueness and refreshing quality.
Coffee and Chocolate:
We tried a trio of drinks, but these didn’t quite hit the high note we’d anticipated:
Rich Hot Chocolate – A standard offering, nothing too extraordinary but nothing to complain about either.
Salted Caramel Macchiato – Slightly better, with a subtle balance of flavors, but still fell short of wowing us.
Mocha – Again, a decent drink, but it lacked the signature touch you’d expect at a place like this.
Overall, the beverages were just average. Rating: 3/5.
Somehow, we managed to savor every bite of the desserts and sipped through the drinks, all while capturing Insta-worthy pictures of the food and the chic menu. The ambience, combined with the elegant presentation of the dishes, made the experience memorable. While it may not have been a culinary revelation in every aspect, it certainly didn’t feel like a waste of time. In fact, visiting LV The Place Bangkok was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I’d highly recommend.
Of course, dining at such a luxurious spot comes with certain expectations. This isn’t a place where you’d turn up in casual wear—dressing formally or in line with the café’s opulent vibe is key to getting those stunning Instagram-worthy shots!
