Shahpur Jat

Shahpur Jat, an Urban Village in South Delhi, is located near Hauz Khas and is within one of the ancient capital cities of Delhi, Siri Fort.
It was once a village, but now it has become a hip, bohemian enclave, home to designer's studios and quirky shops. Along narrow streets decorated with vivid murals, cosy stores offer elaborately home decor items, handmade items, embroidered saris, lehengas, tunics, and more. In addition, you can find cafes serving Indian and Western food with a fantastic ambience and good music. Also, I visited one café to use its washroom, i.e. Café 24. You can find the picture in my gallery above of the food I ate here (P.S.: I wanted to pee, and no store here has a washroom, so they suggested going to this café, and then I ended up eating coz I was hungry too).
I went to this place this week and explored every store possible (P.S.: Buying some ethnic clothing for a family function). The lane called Dada Jungi House has all the designer stores for you to explore and more on the outside. I just loved the collection of Indo-western clothing, lehengas, and more. Now comes how you can explore them around. The stores create a circle, and there are two streets at the start for you to explore. So if you follow one street and go all around that place, you will end up at the start of another street, exploring all the stores on the way. Isn't it amazing?!!
One thing I liked about this place:
YOU DON'T GET THE SAME DISPLAYED CLOTHING ALTERED IN YOUR SIZE; RATHER, YOU GET A NEW ONE STITCHED IN APPROX. 15-20 DAYS FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE.
If you are a Delhiite, you will know how cleverly these designer stores and boutiques sell their outfits around Delhi, saying it's a new piece that just came yesterday; it's all fresh and new. And they tend to give you the one displayed for months and worn by lots of people. Right?
But, in Shahpur Jat, 99% of shops won't give you the displayed pieces; instead will stitch a new one for you.
Also, a few shops offer upto 50% or flat 50% as seasonal sales, and the outfits are worth buying.
So, if you plan to buy ethnic or traditional for yourself, keep this place at the top of your list, followed by South Ex, Lajpat Nagar, Rajouri Garden, and more.
I would highly recommend you to visit this place & the café.
